Just around the corner is cook-out season and everybody is looking forward to the smoky, mouth watering semlls which will soon be drifting around the neighborhood as soon as households fire up their BBQ’s.
We all love the traditional favorites such as burgers, steaks, chicken legs and hot dogs but why not try something a bit different this year and spice up your cooking with some tasty and spicy kabobs?
You can pick from portions of marinated beef or chicken with some tasty fresh vegetables or even fruit nicely seared on the grill. Here are some delicious Kabob recipes that we have got together for you to give a go this summer season.
Steak and Vegetable Kebobs Recipe
Ingredients Required
½ cup dry white wine
1 clove garlic, crushed
½ teaspoon salt
½ cup vegetable or olive oil
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoon chilli sauce
1 tablespoon vinegar
½ teaspoon dried whole oregano
½ teaspoon dried whole thyme
2 lbs boneless sirloin steak cut into 1 ½ inch pieces
½ lb fresh mushroom caps
2 large green peppers, cut into 1 ½ inch pieces
1 pint cherry tomatoes
Method
Combine the first 9 ingredients. Add meat; cover and marinate at minimum 2 hours in the fridge, turning meat from time to time. Remove meat from marinade, reserving marinade. Alternate meat and veggies on skewers. Grill over medium coals 10-15 minutes or until it looks done to your taste, basting with marinade.

Grilled Koftas Kabobs Video Recipe
Ingredients Required
1lb extra lean ground beef
1lb ground lamb
2 teaspoons sweet paprika
1 teaspoon ground coriander seeds
½ teaspoon cumin
½ teaspoon cinnamon
¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper or to taste
¼ cup parsley, chopped
6 garlic cloves, chopped
salt and pepper to taste
Marinated Lamb Kabobs Recipe
Ingredients Required
2 lbs boneless lamb.
1 onion, diced.
½ cup diced green pepper.
½ glass of dry red wine.
¼ cup olive oil.
½ teaspoon pepper.
¼ teaspoon sage.
½ teaspoon dry mustard.
½ teaspoon dried whole oregano.
Method
cut the lamb into 1 inch cubes and set aside. Combine the remaining 8 ingredients in a 13 x 9 inch baking dish. Add lamb; cover and marinate overnight in fridge. Extract meat from marinade, save liquid. Cook marinade in small saucepan till heated. Place meat on skewers. Grill about 6 inches from medium coals for 15 minutes or until done, turning and basting often with marinade.
