Check this out my new video all about …How to make a thanksgiving turkey recipe – My turkey November 2020.
Thanksgiving turkey recipe and little histoy.
Every Thanksgiving, my family and I eat a delicious dinner. We also eat a lot of pie. I love apple pie the best. My dad likes pumpkin pie the most. My mom and brother prefer pecan pie. The turkey is very good too. We have a big dinner, and we always have more than enough food for everyone.
My brother and I always get to help with making the pies. We pick out the apples for the apple pie at the grocery store. Sometimes we even help our mom peel the apples! My dad makes the crust from scratch – that means he makes it from ingredients instead of buying it already made.
My mom bakes all of the pies, and then we eat them for dessert after dinner. My family usually eats dinner around 3 p.m., but on Thanksgiving, we eat later than usual so that my dad has time to cook the turkey in his special oven. Sometimes we watch television while we wait for dinner to be ready, but sometimes we make crafts or play games with each other instead.
One year, my parents took my brother and me to see Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade in New York City! We got up before dawn and took a train into New York City early on Thanksgiving morning so that we could watch all of
So I’ve been cooking Thanksgiving turkeys for a while, and at this point, I have it down to a science. But my approach is a little unusual, so if you’re thinking of doing something similar, I recommend you read all the way through before you start.
Gather your family on thanksgiving day
Thanksgiving is the day when Americans gather with their families to give thanks for the blessings of the past year. In autumn, the Pilgrims settled in what would become Plymouth, Massachusetts. They had been at sea a long time and they were short on food.
The Pilgrims lived near the Wampanoag Indians, who taught them to grow corn, beans, and squash. The first harvest festival was celebrated in 1621 when the colonists had a good crop. The next year, however, was bad for crops because of drought. Many colonists died from diseases that spread easily without enough food to go around. More than half of them died before their second winter came.
The Indians still helped them survive by showing them how to fish and hunt wild animals for food. The following autumn, things were much better for the colonists. This time, they had plenty of food and felt very thankful for their good fortune. The governor called a big feast and invited all of the Wampanoag people to join in and celebrate with them.
This feast became a tradition in America and today Americans still celebrate Thanksgiving Day on the fourth Thursday in November every year with turkey and pumpkin pie!
It is Thanksgiving day. A time to celebrate family, friends, and food. A time to reflect on the year past and remember what we have.
When I was younger, I always thought that Thanksgiving meant eating until you had to unbutton your pants, falling asleep in front of the TV, and then waking up at 2 a.m. with a stomach ache and an overwhelming desire for leftovers. But as I got older, I realized that it means much more than a food coma and a football marathon.
